PIDC Regional Seminar to Combat Human Trafficking and People Smuggling
The Pacific Immigration Development Community (PIDC) is hosting a Regional Executive Seminar to Combat Human Trafficking and People Smuggling from 13 to 15 February 2019 in Apia, Samoa. The event will develop a regional framework to coordinate activities and strengthen capacity and inter-operability of PIDC Members and partner organisations to combat human trafficking and people smuggling in the region and avoid duplication of activities.
The Seminar has been designed to:
a) allow PIDC Members to share experiences to establish a regional context on the scope of human trafficking and people smuggling in the Pacific Islands Region;
b) map activities and programmes to combat human trafficking and people smuggling delivered in the region by PIDC Members and partner organisations;
c) identify possible areas for research and data collection; and
d) identify possible collaborative programmes and activities to support Members' needs.
